First Foods!

On Emmet's six month b-day we decided to head out to the cooler environment of the Hitchcock's house. We are not sure it was actually cooler in LA but their air conditioning sure was better than our swamp cooler. For our East Coast readers, a swamp cooler is an environmentally friendly cooler that uses evaporative cooling. It does not work if it is humid and therefor they are not common on the East Coast. Well it is hot and humid here lately so our house hits 90 degrees by noon and it is unbearable. We spent Saturday and Sunday there and that is where Emmet had his first tastes of solids (in Grandpa Dean's homemade highchair). If you can call rice cereal and breast milk that is the consistency of runny yogurt a solid! He also tried out a teething biscuit. That was a bit advanced for him but Sophie had one! Enjoy the messy baby pictures. I had no idea that feeding Emmet was going to be such fun!

And here are more pics from Emmet's second attempt at solids.

What a milestone! I can't believe he's six months. 4 more weeks until his future wife is born. Keep up those solid foods...I am sure my daughter will want a strong, strapping husband:) CUTE CUTE CUTE!

Happy 6 months Emmet! Your so big for living off of only breast milk until now (way to go, mom). We had to start Ryan in on food at 4 1/2 months to pack on the weight.

Also, that biscuit looks good. I would love to see the after picture (they are usually such a mess).

You have to come up to T.O. for a visit. It was only 109 this weekend (it finally cooled down today). You can cool off in our pool and we have a.c.
