Egg Hunt!

On Sat. we went to the fair grounds for an egg hunt, but it was no ordinary egg hunt...

Here Mom and Emmet wait for the main event..... here it comes!

A helicopter!
Are those eggs being dropped from the helicopter?????

They are, quick get them in the Elmo bucket!
Surely there are more out here somewhere!

And to top it all off, a bounce house! What a morning.

Apparently this is how they do Easter in Missoula! Emmet came down with a fever the day before the big event but with the help of his binkie and some motrin he was happy to hunt for eggs. He caught on quickly and was serious about finding those eggs. We will reenact this event (sans helicopter) this Sat. with the neighbor kids. Emmet is still talking about the helicopter and the eggs (four days later!). he says "I saw a helicopter, I saw eggs". I am glad we opted to take him instead of keeping him home like any responsible parent would have:)

Looks like fun . . . and like it's cold.

wow, that egg drop looks dangerous. were there any head injuries? did they put gun powder in any of the eggs?

also... the little patches of snow amidst the brown grass.... makes me homesick. that means winter. that means spring is almost here. homesick. homesick for the north.

How did they keep the eggs from breaking open when they hit the cold ground?

Isn't it funny how kids know what to do? Milo had never hunted for eggs, but he went for them right away.
