Here Emmet bravely sucks his binkie and clutches his goldfish bag.
And here are the results. As usual, Mom thinks it is a little too short. But I am sure it will grow back soon.

In other news, Emmet likes to hide when he poos and then tells me "poo poo" while pointing at his diaper when he is done. I have read nothing about potty training but this seems like a sign. Do any of you seasoned mom's out there have any advice??

Hi Jessica,
You could give the potty a try to find out! I think that if a kid is aware that they are pooping and can tell you about it, potty training is possible. (Although he's still young, so if it doesn't work--no worries.)
Sam was really regular, so we just had him sit on the potty at the time of day that he usually pooped, and then made a big deal about it. He eventually figured it out. I think that Sam was @12 months old. (Not to hurry Emmet, though -- Joseph wasn't reliable about using the potty until he was 3.)
I agree. Go ahead and sit him on the potty before or even after he poos. You can buy one of those little plastic potties or just one of those potty seats that go on top of the potty. Talk to your daycare about your plan. They may have some advice, as well.
One more note, he might start going on the potty for a while because it's a cool new novelity. The fun may wear off after awhile. And don't fret if he doesn't take to it right away. You have plenty of time. We've been potty training Ryan for a year and he finally gets it now. But, it's been off an on with big interuptions (new brother among other things).
Good luck. Since you spend a lot of time with Mr. Emmet pants and he's letting you know about his BMs, I think you'll have success!
More babbling, this is a hot topic for me. You should get one of those potty videos. They have great catchy potty songs that you can't get out of your head. And this is totally up to Emmet. Don't ever make potty training a battle. He will always win. Mr. Emmet pants is in control. Your just guiding him on what to do and when.
