Late Friday night two weary travelers arrived. They were too tired to set up a tent and shockingly they did not want to bunk in (on bunk beds!) with Adam, Ranger and I, so they slept in their car. Who are these crazy visitors? Kim and Jeff.
After they literally rolled out of bed (car) we headed up to the pass (Tioga Pass). I love love LOVE taking people up to the pass for the first time. It is so freaking gorgeous, I love to hear how amazed they are. Our first stop was just outside Yosemite, at the pass, to do a little bird-nerd fieldwork. They loved my field site, I love anyone who loves my field site. Ranger also took part in the field work, Adam stayed at the car with Emmet and Sawyer who are no longer impressed with my mad biology skills.
Next stop was Olmstead Point in Yosemite, here you can see Half dome from the eastern end of the valley. You can also learn how easy it is to see amazing sights without crowds by taking the .5 mile "hike".
So many funny outtakes on the family photo attempt... So hard to chose...
Now, not only does Sawyer refuse to smile for pictures, sometimes he puts his hand in front of his face. If you are really lucky he will even go out of his way to photobomb an otherwise great pic. Thanks a heap Sauce.
Ranger enjoyed his first trip to Olmstead Point, I think:)
I love the picture below, I'm not sure why, it just kinda speaks to me.
Our next stop was Tenaya Lake, Yosemite's best kiddie pool.
Kim sampled the deeper section and found it to be cold.
I hung in the shallows with Ray Ray. I'm not sure which of these pictures is the least embarrassing/unflattering, I'll share both, your welcome.

Yes, Ranger is naked in this next one, do it while ya can little man.

We then headed back to the cabin for a quinoa-beef-veggie slurry on a bed of kale, one of my favs, also Sawyer's least fav. This is where Sawyer says "Mom, don't ever make this again!". After the kiddos went to bed the adults enjoyed Bloody Mary cocktails while watching birds, then bats, then stars.

I like the photo you like too, of the 3 boys. It's frame worthy. :)
