We are back at the cabin!!!!! Soooo excited. The big kids (Emmet and Sawyer) did great on the drive. They even declared it "not that long", hmmm Mom begs to differ! Ranger was okay, he pitched a few fits. He doesn't sleep well (read 20 min cat nap) in the car seat. There were some tears:( Thankfully Emmet is a very kind and attentive big bro! Thank you Emmet!!
Our first Ranger-needs-a-break stop was in Johannesburg CA (not South Africa) a small desert community with a ummm lovely park. Here are the restroom facilities ...
Nice, ehh?
Luckily there was some shade as it was 99 degrees at 9 AM. We also stopped for ice cream in big pine. Through some miracle we only stopped twice. We usually stop once to get subs in Pearsonville and play at the worlds creepiest park.
This is from two field seasons ago! 2011!
But alas things are different with three kids and the youngest/neediest picks the stops!
After our long journey we were all thrilled to be on the road to the cabin.
We promptly lysoled the hanta cabin and hooked up the generator to run the water pump to fill the tank.... No water no idea why, good times! So then it was off to the water spigot down the road and to the whoa Nellie deli for dinner!!
On our way we saw our first deer!
Ranger gave the BBQ chicken pizza two thumbs up.
And Mom and Dad gave the margarita pitcher two bellies up. It poured while we were at the restaurant and while we filled the the water jugs. While Adam and I whined about getting drenched filling water jugs, Emmet and Sawyer voluntarily soaked themselves. Good times:) Yeahhhhh Cabin!!
